Kantha is the ancient Indian art of embroidery – Kantha means “simple running stitch”. There is great detail and time spent in hand stitching every single thread that has gone into making just one piece. Beautiful traditional block printing and 100% hand stitched make this quilt an antique extraordinary item.
Traditionally, two fabrics are sewn together with Kantha stitches, representing the unity of a couple, and a piece of art is created. It can take up to one month to make such an item. To find out more about the Story of the Kantha read on here in SLOW DOWN.
